Results of the online study on mental health after a heart attack

We would like to thank everyone who took part in our Germany-wide online survey for heart attack sufferers. The large number of participants gave us valuable insights into the psychological consequences of a heart attack and helped us to gain important knowledge about the often underestimated psychosocial challenges.

The aim of the study was to investigate the psychosocial effects of a heart attack, to gain insights into the perceived psychological support during hospitalization and to identify risk factors for psychological stress in the form of depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder after a heart attack.

We are now pleased to present the results of the study to you.

With the results of the study, we would like to raise awareness of the well-being of heart attack patients and help to ensure that mental health is given greater consideration in cardiovascular care.
If you have any questions about the results or would like to find out more about the study, please do not hesitate to contact us at carolin.swoboda@charite.de.
