Driving Forces for Prevention and Innovation
At the 3rd BILD Heart Summit in Berlin in March 2026, the central question was how to maintain heart health well into old age. In particular, the discussion focused on the importance of prevention, early detection, and innovative therapies in managing cardiovascular diseases.
Under the scientific direction of FS-CPC Director Prof. Dr. Ulf Landmesser, more than 100 experts from the fields of medicine, science, politics, and society gathered. The topics covered ranged from the role of hypertension as a systemic disease to new treatment approaches for cardiac arrhythmias and previously underestimated genetic heart diseases.
In their speeches, representatives of the federal government— Federal Health Minister Nina Warken and Federal Research Minister Dorothee Bär—emphasized the importance of joint initiatives to improve heart health in Germany.
Once again, the event provided an important platform for interdisciplinary exchange and the further development of joint strategies in cardiology.
