Focus on Heart Health
On March 6, 2026, an informational event on heart health was held for members of the Bundestag at the German Parliamentary Society. Initiated and organized by the German Heart Center at Charité (DHZC), the event provided an opportunity to learn about prevention, early detection, and risk factors for cardiovascular diseases, as well as to engage in discussion.
The FRIEDE SPRINGER – Cardiovascular Prevention Center participated with an information booth and was represented by Prof. Dr. Ulf Landmesser, Director of the FS-CPC, Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Steinhagen-Thiessen, and Dr. Corinna König, among others. As recognized experts in cardiovascular preventive medicine, they provided information on current scientific findings, presented FS-CPC studies on innovative preventive research, and were available to answer questions from members of parliament regarding individual risk factors as well as options for preventive care and early detection.
Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Hans Theiss, a comprehensive heart screening was also offered. Many members of parliament took the opportunity to have their heart health checked through tests such as an ECG, blood pressure measurement, ultrasound, and blood sugar testing. Additional information stations provided information on topics such as heart failure, risk factors, and prevention options.
We would like to thank the DHZC for initiating and organizing the event, as well as everyone involved for their dedication.
