Data Scientist in Cardiovascular Imaging
The beating heart is a marvel. It supplies our body with oxygen and nutrients throughout our entire lives. As we age, the heart continuously adapts to our lifestyle and can compensate for increased demands and minor damage over long periods of time. Thanks to modern medical imaging, we can detect these adaptations early, and I want to find out what causes them and how we can support the heart in fulfilling its vital role reliably for as long as possible.
With a background in medical image and data processing, I focus on the automated analysis of cardiac imaging data from ultrasound, MRI, and CT. My goal is to develop and apply new methods in image processing and artificial intelligence to identify individual cardiovascular risk at an early stage, before the first symptoms appear. The insights gained should help recommend preventive measures and interventions in a more targeted and personalised way, so that as many people as possible can keep their hearts healthy in the long term.
